Question by Jennifer Zhu: What’s the difference between these two Mandarin Chinese phrase?
Hi, I’m learning Chinese for almost one year. In today’s mandarin class, I learned the phrase “怎么样” means “how about,” but “不怎么样” seems different with “怎么样.”
It will be awesome that you can you tell me the difference. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I’m Jennifer. A native Chinese teacher from China. Regarding to your question, please see below.
But “不怎么样 (bù zěnmeyànɡ) just so so/not good” used to judge.
“不怎么样 (bù zěnmeyànɡ)” share the same similar meaning with “不好 (bùhǎo) not good.” For example:
Tā chànɡɡē bù zěnmeyànɡ.
She sings not very well.
